Old Tree Nameholder
Using bits to make something useful
Done for fun in 2018
Yes, well, sometimes I just get too much time on my hands.
This model came about because a few of us were making little name plates or blocks of wood with our names on to put with our displays at shows.
I’d found a little wooden pill box, along with an old root that looked like it almost had an eye on one side of the trunk, and a three fingered hand stretching out at the front.
Give it a sign made out of some rolled out putty, ad some more putty to join the “tree” to the pill box and apply paint – simples.

I used to paint – many years ago – for the Manchester Games Workshop displays, and instead of signing the painted pieces with my full name, simply painted on my initials - “ASH”
This seemed like a good idea, I was more likely to get three letters painted the same size, and so the sign reads “Painted by ASH”
All well and good, but it wasn’t as obvious as other people’s efforts as nameplates go, so it got retired to the display cases after a couple of years and I reverted to the simple etched nameplates supplied by Name-It…… Much better and clearer I must admit.
But as an exercise, the tree was good, and still lurks at the back of one of my display cases, ready to be taken out to a show in the future perhaps.
