Brussels Museum of Military History

Visited in 2024

Having viewed some of the medieval to nineteenth century exhibits in the last article – and there’s a lot more that I couldn’t fit in that article picture-wise – I’ll move on to the twentieth century, beginning with some of the superb exhibits on show from the First World War.

Please remember, that it’s only possible for me to show a small selection of what is actually on display, and I really do encourage you to visit the museum itself.

The little café is worth the visit alone !

Added to what I've shown here are a lot of artillery pieces from various nations, and ranging in size from relatively small 20mm guns to Howitzers of 90mm bore and larger.

Now for some pictures of Second World War items....

Whilst there are lots of full-sized exhibits, there's quite a lot of models on show too.

The horse-drawn carts here, which are wonderfully detailed, are around 1/6th scale I think and the vehicles are probably around 1/16th scale.
