Class 1
Juniors
Whilst there are many classes at the show - 35 in all - I can't think of one that is more important than the Juniors class.
It's our futire we're looking at there, and the entrants here should be congratulated on the efforts they take to assemble and paint models.
Unfortunately, the way the competition is run, the entries into every class are anonymous, in that each one is simply given a number, so along with the adult classes I can't credit the makers of each piece with a name.
However, well done to them, and if you're a parent of one of these youngsters, then well done to you for encouraging and supporting them.
I for one thank you for your investment in the future of our hobby.

There were 3142 entries in total to the model competition, a heck of a lot of table space needed, a heck of a lot of lighting too, and a lot of time taken to judge the models, even with a team of over fifty people.
Did they do a good job, I'm sure they tried their best, what I do know is it's a thankless job, because it's unpaid, time consuming away from the show, and although you get to look at the models in relative peace, you sometimes get little thanks from the entrants for your efforts.
My thanks then to the Judges, and as for this class, well there were some absolutely superb offerings, these first from a French lady that I personally thought were superb.
Did I have any favourites in amongst the entries - not really, they were all very, very good.
I was honoured, and surprised to get a Silver Medal for my "Girl in the Hat" - shown above, because the level of competence and the sheer quality of the other entries was so high.
